Kirk Mickelson built his legacy around a childhood dream. Even as a child, he always knew he wanted to build homes. Likewise, Kirk’s wife, Amanda, had an ingrained love for aesthetics. Kirk’s passion for the process and Amanda’s eye for design combine into the team of custom home builders you want on your side.
Married for nearly 20 years, Kirk and Amanda of KRM Development share a unique relationship that makes them an unstoppable pair in life and business. Kirk knows the ins and outs of custom home building; he will gladly talk you through the details regarding the structure of your home. He enjoys traveling to different regions to learn about current home trends and styles. Amanda focuses on the aesthetic and design factors; she can help you choose your home’s elements—its fixtures, products, and color schemes—to help you create a unique look that is entirely yours.
How did KRM Development get started?
Kirk has always had a passion for building. When he moved to Des Moines, he decided to bring his home-building dream to reality. With the help of a construction loan from the bank circa 2002, he and Amanda worked hard to save enough money to build their first home. Fast forward to 2022, and KRM Development has grown to an organization of 45 people!
